Homework Information#
AI-Assisted Grading System#
This semester, we are piloting an AI-assisted homework grading system. You will submit your homework solutions through this platform: https://www.msu-stt-learning.com/. The system supports both AI-assisted and manual grading options, and participation in the AI-assisted component is completely voluntary.
Homework is submitted as a single Jupyter Notebook file. For accurate grading, you must clearly indicate the cell range for each question (i.e., the start cell and end cell corresponding to that problem) within the platform.
Any AI-generated feedback will be reviewed by TAs and/or the instructor before being released on the platform.
Final homework grades will be posted and visible on D2L.
Important Reminders#
Homework must be submitted as a Jupyter Notebook (
.ipynb) file. For accurate grading, ensure that each question’s solution is clearly organized and its corresponding cell range is correctly identified.Collaboration is strongly encouraged. If you work with others in the class, include an Acknowledgments section in your notebook listing collaborators and any external resources used. While resources such as the textbook and internet are encouraged, direct copy-and-paste is not permitted. You should be able to explain and justify your solutions if asked.
Providing a solution pathway or AI prompt history document is strongly recommended. A template will be provided, and this document may be uploaded to the Additional Files section of the AI-assisted platform.
Late policy#
The late homework policy is:
Full credit if submitted on D2L by midnight on the due date.
5% penalty if submitted up to 24 hours late.
15% penalty if submitted up to 48 hours late.
No credit after 48 hours.
At the end of the semester, the two lowest homework scores will be dropped.
So if the homework is due on Sunday at midnight, you will lose 5% if submitted by midnight Monday, and lose 15% if submitted by midnight Tuesday. No homework will be accepted after Tuesday at midnight.
