Fall 2021
Motivation
This course will equip students with resources and strategies that support their academic success as they transition to the university environment. This section is designed for and restricted to students with a major or minor in Computational Mathematics, Science and Engineering (CMSE)
This single credit seminar course is taught as a live online course with asynchronous options available based on student need. Students are given short weekly assignments (ex. videos, reading and workshops) designed to help them learn effectively online and build relationships with their fellow students. In class students will work individually and in groups in activities designed to engage students and let them take control of their own education.
Recommended Schedule
Some assignments (ex 3x3 reports) must be completed during the week they are assigned. However, many of these assignments can be competed at any time during the semester. Your instructor recommends finishing as early as possible.

* Discussion qustions are worth 5 points. You can also get up to 5 additional points by responding to other student’s questions (2 points for each responce).
** You will need to meet your mentor multiple times in the semester to get credit, which will be applied after the last meeting.
*** Make sure you do the tracking assignment early it will take an entire week.
Note: as of the beginning of the semester there were 470 possible points listed above of which each student needs 250 to pass. As the semester progresses additional points may be added but this total may not get updated.
